Olivetti Letter Opener

In 1960 Marcello Nizzoli used one of his most famous graphic designs, a stylized bird, to create a letter opener. It immediately became one of the symbols of Olivetti and initiated the production in the following years of a series of design objects to function as desk accessories and gifts.

Olivetti desk sets became a status symbol all over the world as paperweights, ashtrays, pencil holders and picture frames all added a touch of fantasy and modernism to offices and homes.
